Our Story Starts in early 2000s
Our story starts just by being labelled ‘the clever one’ in the family. Having passed the 11 plus exam and securing a place at the local Grammar school in England meant that I was the go-to for answering any homework questions my younger siblings had. This reputation as the ‘answer person’ extended beyond family. Friends would ask for help, and classmates would turn to me for a clearer explanation of concepts learned in class. It wasn’t just about having the knowledge; it was about explaining it in a way that resonated with others. This realization sparked a passion for teaching, and I began to understand the transformative power of clear and individualized instruction.
Fast forward to early 2005. The internet was just beginning to revolutionize communication and education. I saw a unique opportunity to combine my love of teaching with the power of this new technology. That’s when the idea for Online Virtual School was born – a platform to connect students with exceptional tutors from anywhere in the world.
While the idea for Online Virtual School simmered in the back of my mind, life took me down a different path for over two decades. I gained valuable experience working in the tech sector with its many facets and concepts, witnessing first-hand the challenges and triumphs of students and educators alike. Now, the time feels right. Online tutoring has become even more accessible and essential, and I’m thrilled to finally bring Online Virtual School to life, fuelled by my original passion for making education clear, engaging, and available to all, as well as bringing on other passion-filled tutors to help you.
